Terms of Use
Last updated: August 30, 2026
This page is a plain-language summary of the terms that apply to using SustainCheck. It is not a substitute for legal advice.
SustainCheck (“SustainCheck,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by SustainCheck BV, a company registered in Belgium under enterprise number BE 1025.089.862, with its registered office at Sint-Baafsplein 10, 9000 Gent, Belgium.
By accessing or using the SustainCheck website or platform (together, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service.
What SustainCheck is
SustainCheck provides sustainability data, certification information, and company-level scoring for Belgian companies, drawn from public registries (including the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Enterprises), certification bodies, and other public or licensed sources.
Our sustainability score is SustainCheck’s own assessment, based on the data available to us at the time it is calculated. It is not a certification, an audit, or a guarantee of a company’s actual sustainability performance, and it should not be treated as financial, legal, or investment advice.
Data accuracy
We source company data from official registries and certification bodies and take reasonable care in how we process it, but we do not guarantee that the data shown on SustainCheck is complete, accurate, or up to date at all times. Source registries and certification bodies update on their own schedules, and errors can exist in the underlying data itself.
If you believe information about your own company is incorrect, contact us (see “Contact us” below) and we will review it.
Your account
Some parts of the Service require an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Sign-in itself is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider — see our Privacy Policy for details on how that works.
Acceptable use
When using SustainCheck, you agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service other than through features we explicitly provide for that purpose.
- Attempt to circumvent authentication, access controls, or rate limits.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or attempt to access it via automated means beyond normal browsing.
- Use the Service to build a competing product from our data or scores.
- Misrepresent SustainCheck data or scores as your own, or as an official certification.
Pricing
SustainCheck is currently free to use, as described on our Pricing page. If we introduce paid plans in the future, we will update these Terms and that page accordingly before any charges apply.
Intellectual property
The SustainCheck name, logo, website design, and our own scoring methodology are owned by SustainCheck BV. Underlying company registry data remains subject to the rights of its original source. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative products from SustainCheck’s scores or platform without our written permission.
Availability
SustainCheck is under active development. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service, and features may change, be added, or be removed over time.
Limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SustainCheck BV is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or the data and scores it provides.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service, and request deletion of your account, at any time — see our Privacy Policy for how to do that.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use as SustainCheck evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute arising from them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghent, Belgium.
